Summer in Chambana

Summer in Chambana Hi everyone! I hope everyone finished their semester strong and has a great summer planned. As a student staying in Champaign over the summer, I have noticed that Campustown becomes a little empty and fairly quiet. Since it’s nice out, it’s a great time to explore the beauty of the Champaign-Urbana area. Here are some of my suggestions on places to visit this summer! Allerton Park. Allerton Park is located at 515 Old Timber Road in Monticello, just about 30 minutes outside of Champaign. They have beautiful scenery, perfect for a picnic or a long walk. Also, if you’re lucky enough, you may experience one of the live music nights they put on once a month.Market at the Square. Located in downtown Urbana, stores are open every Saturday morning to do some small business shopping. The streets are cute and you can purchase items like pottery, jewelry, clothing, etc. for a decent price!Champaign County Fair. The fair will take place from July 18-26 and will include a carnival, car and circus shows, and more! It’s a great place to hang out with friends or even with your family. Overall, Champaign and Urbana are gorgeous cities, and there are numerous activities that students and families can partake in over the summer. Check them out!
